3411. Weidt, R. Aug. 14, 1911, [Convention date]. Sandals. - A sandal for bathing or 'for agricultural purposes has a sole 1 of wood, papiermache, or the like, which is hollowed out on its upper surface to form a cavity 2 for the reception of the foot. A band passes through openings 4, 5 in the sole, as shown in Fig. 2, and has its ends 7 passed over the instep and tied above the ankle. A rubber connector 9 passes through a hole 6 in the rear of the sole and has a band 11 attached to each end. The bands 11 also are crossed over the instep and tied above the ankle.
