Abstract

2572. Davis, G. K. Jan. 31. [Addition to 2113/09, Class 8 (ii), Air and gases, Treating &c.] Spray evaporators; column stills.-The apparatus described in the parent Specification, comprising a casing divided into chambers b, through which gases pass in a zigzag path in contact with spray thrown up by fanners g, is applied to the distillation of liquids by means of steam as in a column still. It is preferred to arrange the vapour passages c at the top and bottom of alternate partitions, and to provide weirs k over which the liquid flows from chamber to chamber.
