Abstract
2323. Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken. Jan. 6, [Convention date]. Ball bearings.-In ball bearings of the non- adjustable concentric-ring type, which are inserted into the bearing socket as an enclosed whole, the bush n, Fig. 3, is secured to the bearing socket r by means of a split ring s located in corresponding perforations in the socket and bush, the split ring being expanded by a pin t with a conical head u, which screws into a distance-sleeve f and into a lock-nut v, the pin itself being secured by this clamping- action. To render the ball bearing dust-tight, adjacent inner and outer clamping-disks c, i and d, k, Fig. 1, are arranged to overlap each other, and, between the disks and the corresponding ball-race ring, intermediate disks l, o and m, p are arranged to overlap each other as shown. The intermediate sleeves f, g are supplemented by a partition h so as to form an oil-trough. The bearing is shown in connexion with the bottom bracket of a cycle.
