[Addition to 1191/12.] Shuttles, changing bobbins and the like in, automatically.-The thread ends are removed from the bobbins by the direct action of an endless hand g, Fig. 1, of card clothing passing round pulleys h<1>, h<2>, the pulley h<2> being rotated intermittently by a ratchet i on a lever c<1>, c<2> connected by cords d<1>, d<2> to a slotted member d engaged by a tappet f on the striker or transferrer arm a<1>. A doffer j is provided. The card clothing may be removed in places from the band g to facilitate the movements of the bobbins in the magazine. In a modification, the pulley h<1> is carried on a spring-controlled lever having an arm engaged by the tappet f, so that the band g is normally raised from the bobbins but is moved into contact with the second lowest bobbin in the magazine when the transferrer descends. In another modification, the striker arm a<1>, Fig. 3, acts upon a spoon l, which raises the second lowest bobbin into contact with the band g, when transference of the lowest bobbin occurs, this raised bobbin resting against a member m. Lever mechanism may be substitnted for the cords d<1>, d<2>, Fig. 1.
