Wood, preserving; impregnating-compositions. -In the impregnation of wood with sulphur at a melting temperature for preservative or other purposes, the wood is first treated for the removal of resinous or like matter, for example by digesting it, preferably under pressure or vacuum, in an alkaline solution.
