Wood, treating with liquids.-The impregnation of wood with liquid is facilitated by making holes in the wood in such a manner that the cells are only pushed aside by the tool without rupturing the cell walls. The number of holes may vary at different parts of the wood, according to the degree of impregnation it is desired to effect at the different parts. The openings may be produced by rotating steel needles.
