Centrifugal governors.-Centrifugal governors and speed indicators are constructed so that equal movement of the muff c is obtained for equal increments in speed throughout the range of the apparatus by loading the lever e, which is pivoted at f and bears on the muff, by an adjustable spring l attached to an auxiliary lever i. The lever i bears on a curved part g on the main lever through a roller h or slipper. The spring may be replaced by a number of weights which come into action successively as the speed increases.
