Abstract

24,432. Berry, H. F. Nov. 3. Cauldrons.-Relates to apparatus for heating and drying stone &c. for use in roads &c., of the kind in which the stone falls from one floor to another in a heated chamber, as in the apparatus described in Specification 17,740/10, and consists in scraping the stone through holes in the floors. In the apparatus shown, the floors a can be drawn out by handles b, and the stone is scraped through openings c in the floors by fixed scrapers d. The scrapers d may be hollow and perforated to admit air. The arrangement of the heating and drying chamber may be similar to that described in Specification 5893/12. In another form, the floors are stationary and the scrapers movable.
