Abstract

Extrusion machines; stream - cutting machines.-In extrusion apparatus for producing a string of closed hollow blocks by means of a rotary core, the core is formed with a wedgeshaped end B, and is mounted upon an axle D operable by a crank, eccentric, &c. When the core is positioned as shown in Fig. 3, a hollow bar F is formed, and by rotating the core into the position shown in Fig. 4, a solid bar E is formed. By successively rotating the core, a stream of alternate hollow and solid portions is produced, which is severed at G, H to produce a series of closed hollow blocks. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) states also that the solid portions are produced by rotating the core rapidly through 360 degrees, and comprises also a cutting-apparatus, operable simultaneously with the core, in which the material impinging against a stop-plate d, Fig. 5, moves the cutting-carriage e and, by means of a tappet f, operates a clutch rod h; the core spindle c is thereupon rotated and, by means of a crank, rod v, and levers u, operates the vertical cutter frame s, and by means of an eccentric x and rod y operates the carriage e. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as published.
