Abstract

Jigs; washing.-The lighter material is removed from washing-apparatus used for separating materials of different specific gravities by means of oscillating or revolving apparatus having its axis above the level of the water. In the form shown in Fig. 1, buckets G scoop up the light material C and discharge it down a shoot H after drainage. The shoot H may be movable by a series of cams or the like revolving with the buckets G. The buckets G may be of various forms such as shown in Fig. 5, mounted on the wheel E internally or externally, and may act in conjunction with a conveyer K. The buckets may be movable on axes on the wheel E. The oscillating form, Fig. 9, may discharge in one or both directions, and the blade G may be movable on an axis R.
