19,937. Morgan, P. Sept. 7. Seat adjustments.-Folding canvas hammock chairs are provided with a chain - and - hook safety-appliance, whereby accidental collapsing of the chairs is prevented. On each side of the chair is provided a chain c secured to the crossbar f by a clamp b, and after the chair has been opened, a link of the chain is slipped over the hook a' on the plate a. If desired, the chain may be clamped to the side bars h and the hooks a<1> may be mounted on the bar f. According to the Provisional Specification, the clamp b may consist of two semicircular members hinged together at one end, and adapted to be secured together at their other end by a bolt or screw.
