Fixing by screwed and chuck-grip sockets with toothed holding-devices.-A device for securing brush handles to their heads comprises a sleeve a internally screw-threaded at its upper end b to receive the handle end, and split at its lower end into three parts; one part c carries a thumb-screw h swivelled at its end to a resilient bridge-piece g connecting the other two parts d, c, whereby the split sleeve may be forcibly expanded within the hole in the brush stock for fixing it. The lower ends of the split sleeve are provided externally with a screwthread f or with circular grooves or projections for gripping the wall i of the brush-stock socket
