Sound-directing appliances.-The trumpet or bell part of electric horns is provided with louver-like baffles to prevent the passage of water without interfering with the passage of the sound-waves. Fig. 2 shows one construction of baffle-plate with louver-like parts c. This plate is of an elliptical shape so as to lie obliquely across the smaller end of the trumpet.
