Grips, friction.-A cord grip, of the kind comprising a base-plate or foundation 1 and a pivoted lever 2, adapted to carry and grip the cord, has at one end of such lever a bifurcation 5, a hole, or a grooved pulley with or without a bifurcation to support the cord 4, and at its other end 6 is furnished with teeth or the like to grip the cord on the base-plate. The end 6 has a side flange 11 to prevent lateral displacement of the cord, and the lever is supported on one side only by a lug 9 so that the cord may be readily inserted between the lever and base without threading.
