Compositions containing bituminous materials. -33 per cent of a clay of the kaolinite class is added to 66 per cent of a refined natural bitumen not containing any clay, to produce a compound similar to Lake Trinidad bitumen. By the addition of from 3 to 9 per cent of a suitable flux, synthetic trench and joint-box insulating- compounds can be obtained.
