Abstract

Making electric-lamp bulbs. -In a machine for making hollow glass bodies, such as electric-lamp bulbs, of the type in which a glass tube b is rotated, heated by a gas burner h and blown by air introduced through the spindle i, the shape of the body is determined by a half mould g, which is pivoted to a slide s and is applied to the bulb while it is being rotated and blown. The exact position of the mould g, when in the working position, is adjusted by a screw m. The burner h is also mounted on the slide s so that it may be used to heat a fresh part of the tube while the mould g is operating upon the part previously heated by it.
