Aerial machines with aerostats; aerostats.- An aerostat is made in sections so as to be capable of being easily dismantled, and the sections are connected together by longitudinal beams 1, 3, 4 arranged at the sides and at the top and bottom of the aerostat. The sections containing the gas-bags are separated by narrow cylindrical chambers 5, which are divided by floors 6 into compartments for the engines, stores, and accommodation for the crew. The ends 5<X> of the chambers 5 are connected by longitudinal rods 8 connected by circular frames 7. A waterproof covering is stretched over the framework, and the gas-bags are placed within, being enclosed within a net so as to leave a space between the outer shell and the gas-bags along which cold or warm air can be passed for varying the temperature of the gas. A ballonet 20 is provided for each section and filled with air so as to keep the gas-bags taut. The beams 1 at the sides of the air-ship form a lifting-plane, and also serve as a gangway around the ship. Planes are arranged at intervals along the sides of the ship, and may be adjusted for steering. Propelling.-Lifting-propellers 13, driven by motors in the upper compartments of the chambers 5, are arranged along the top of the aerostat, and driving-propellers 14, 15 are arranged alternately at different levels along the sides. Cars and cabins. -Below the aerostat is a cabin 16 and a gangway 18. Cabins are also provided at the front and the rear of the aerostat.
