Abstract

12,123. Stein, A., and Parmentier, G. Nov. 17, 1910, [Convention date]. Lasting.-In pliers for use in the manufacture of boots and shoes, one of the jaws consists of two parts 2, 3 each pivoted on the main pivot 1 and also to a rocking compensating- pivot 6, which is pivotally mounted on an extension of the operating-handle 4, thus enabling the two parts to grip evenly on material of uneven thickness. The ball - ended pivot 6 engages dished recesses in the part jaws 2, 3, and is carried in a bearing which is flared out on both sides to enable the pin to rock. In the modification, Fig. 4, the invention is shown applied to a lasting or twisting-in machine. The two jaw parts 2, 3 are pivotally connected to the ends of a rocking compensating-lever 7, which is pivotally connected at an intermediate point with the operating-member 8
