Abstract

Disconnecting actuating-mechanism.-Relates to mechanical inflating-devices for automobile tyres and similar purposes of the kind operated by means of a wheel held in frictional contact with the fly-wheel of the engine, the friction wheel driving a suitable pump. According to the invention, the friction wheel s is mounted on the outer end of a flexible spring arm r, or on a hinged support acted upon by springs, a draw cord u being provided to enable the wheel to be brought out of engagement with the rotating part of the engine when the pump is not required for use. The pump piston-rod is attached to the connecting-rod by a ball joint m, and the cylinder is cooled by air drawn into and expelled from the idle end through perforations t in the cylinder cover. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also the application of the invention to pumps for all purposes. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
