Abstract

6705. Otto, E. C. F., and Dickson, W. K.-L. March 17. Safety wheels.-In a single-track motor-car having interchangeable main running wheels 2, 3, adjustable side supporting-wheels 16 are provided. These side wheels are carried by levers 17 which are operated by plates 21 having cam slots, these plates being operated by either a foot-lever or a hand-lever 22 provided with a retaining ratchet quadrant. The cam slots are recessed at 28 to render them self locking when the side wheels are in the depressed position. In a modification shown in Fig. 8, the plates 21 are operated by an arm 34 connected to the bmke-operating rod 35, so that when the brakes are applied the side wheels are lowered.
