Abstract
3723. Utley, T. Feb. 14. Cabin and deck lights. -In a light of the kind having a float valve or louver for ventilation, the glass-holder a is provided with diametrically-arranged trunnions a<1>, which are adapted to be moved along guides a<3> in the framing b of the light by means of handles b<3> carried by lugs b<2> on the glassholder a. Wedge-screws b<4> are adapted to engage depressions in the lugs b<2>, in order to secure the glass-holder a in the closed position against its seating c<2>. When the light is closed, air for ventilation passes through openings in the framing and then around float valves d<1> into chambers d<3>, from which outlets d<3x> provided with covers d<4> lead into the interior of the ship. A dead-light c<4> is hinged to a portion c' of the framing.
