3003. Barker, A. E. Feb. 6. Scrapers, foot. - A combined scraper and boot cleaner is provided with a series of brushes attached to two rotary bands driven by an electric or other motor. Figs. 1 and 2 are respectively a perspective view and a section of the apparatus. Fig. 4 is a section through one of the brushes. The brushes B, B<1> are carried on bands C passing over wheels D rotated by a motor J. A wheel E supports the chains C at the centre. A grid F through which the brushes slightly project serves as a support for the feet. A comb G is provided for cleaning the brushes as they rotate, the dirt being collected in a tray L. As shown in Fig. 5, stationary brushes N may be provided in a hood 0 for cleaning the tops of the boots, and electric bulbs M may be placed in the apparatus for drying the brushes.
