2809. Ashton, W. Feb. 3. Cigarette holders of the kind that are screwed into the end of the cigarette are made with a grooved stem A, the groove being preferably in the form of a double screw-thread, and a head or flange D corresponding with the cigarette in cross-section and forming the mouthpiece. The head may be slightly concave on the outer surface to fit the lips, and have an end plate D<2> also of concave shape and having a central aperture D<3>, and may have also an extension D<5> to compress the end of the cigarette. In a modification, the bottom plate D<2> is omitted and the outer surface made cylindrical. In another modification, Fig. 7, the stem has two longitudinal grooves B and is screw-threaded, and the head is disk-shaped and tapered slightly towards the rear.
