Abstract

30,102. Anderson, Boyes, & Co., and Anderson, A. Dec. 28. Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.- Oil escaping from the end of a bearing for rotary shafts of electric motors &c. is collected and returned to the reservoir by a rotating disk C, mounted on the shaft B and provided with impelling-blades D in a groove in the disk; or the blades may be arranged between two or more disks. The disk is enclosed by a segmental partition F, over which the oil is thrown into a chamber E communicating by an opening H with the reservoir &c. Baffle-plates I direct the oil to the chamber E, and prevent loss of oil by splashing.
