Abstract

29,735. Pickstone, J. W. Dec. 22. Hand stamps. - Designs in one or more colours are printed on fabrics, leather goods, wood, glass, paper, &c. by means of a series of rubber-faced hand stamps, which are applied by hand in succession to the material. For example, in the floral design - shown in Fig. 9, the stalks a are printed by one series, the leaves b by a second, and the blooms c by a third series of stamps. The wooden body of each stamp may be marked to indicate the character of the design on the face. The stamps are inked by pressure on inking-pads. A suitable ink consists of one part of aniline dye, two parts of dextrin, and six parts of glycerine by volume.
