Abstract

[Addition to 27,978/09.] Feeding sheets.-The machine for printing late news described in the parent Specification is fitted with means for ensuring the passage of only one paper at the time from the pile, such means consisting of a roller or the like maintained at a determined but adjustable distance from the bed-plate of the machine. Means, such as adjustably - pressed rollers, are also provided for assisting the forward movement of the papers engaged by the feeding-bands. As shown, a U-shaped frame t fitted with a roller t<3> is arranged near the feed-table, and the distance of the roller t<3> from the bed-plate is adjustable by means of nuts u, which are pressed by springs u<1> against guides t<2> on the ink-tank g of the machine. Other guides t' for the frame t are attached to the inking- surface h<1> as shown. The feeding forward of the papers is assisted by rollers u mounted in blocks v<1> acted on by adjustable springs w.
