Delivery apparatus. - Sheets are conveyed from one folding-device to another or to delivering rollers, by means of a fixed guide having a continuous groove therein, which receives the edges of the paper, and coacting rollers preferably of frusto-conical or like shape, slightly inclined to this guide and adapted to seat the paper in the groove and advance it longitudinally therein. As shown, folded paper is forwarded by rolls b, b<1>, Fig. 1, and is received in a groove k' in a guide-plate k, Figs. 4 and 5. It is then forwarded by two sets of inclined rolls d, e, which convey it to a folding-plate c set at the angle of 45 degrees with the transverse travel of the paper, from which it passes to buckling-rolls f, Fig. 3, and feed-rolls g to a vertical bank of inclined rolls h, which are similar to the rolls d and act in conjunction with grooved guides h<1> similar to k<1>, and guides p to forward the paper to delivery rolls i, j. The rolls h are mounted in a frame q mounted on a split sleeve r adjustably clamped on a rod q<1> to permit sheets of different sizes to be dealt with. One of each pair of rolls d, e is mounted in a pivoted frame as l acted on by opposing springs as l<1>, l<11>, of which the latter can be adjusted according to the thickness of the paper. The groove k<1> is depressed at k<11> so as to accommodate the slight increase in the width of the folded sheet as its edge is grasped between the rolls c, and to prevent the sheet from buckling or being forwarded incorrectly. The rolls d, c are geared together and oppositely driven. They may be formed with cylindrical bases and frusto-conical ends which are longitudinally milled or scored. The rolls d, e and guide k are vertically adjustable on a support o<11>. Specifications 14,631/07 and 12,653/08 are referred to.
