Folding boxes; lids and covers.-A collapsible hat-box has its side and bottom formed of leather or similar soft material secured to angular stays 1, Fig. 2, hinged to a common bolt 3, so that the stays can be opened out and the edges of the material secured by pressstuds 7. The lid consists of a number of bars 11, Fig. 3, which are capable of being rolled up on a central bar 12 pivoted to a bar 13. The lid is secured by moving the bars 12, 13 under recesses or noses formed in certain angular stays 1. the bars 11 resting on recesses in the other stays 1. The covering-material may 'extend beyond the stays and be fastened by a drawstring at the top of the box.
