Draught appliances.-In expanding horsehoes &c., means are provided for adjusting the width without releasing the guide-handles, and the draught attachment is connected to the hoe in such a way that the pull of the horse tends to expand the implement. The guide-handles 1, 2 are pivoted together and to the side bars 6, 7. They are adjustably locked together by a spring catch 12 controlled by a trigger 20 and engaging with a notch in a flanged channelpiece 10 and with notches in a bar 11 sliding within the channel-piece. The ordinary draught block or shackle is connected by a rod or chain 27 to a lever 23, which is pivoted on a bracket 22 and connected by a rod or chain 25 to a sliding block 26 coupled to the side bars by links 28, 29. In a modification, the lever 23 is connected directly to the block 26, and the angle of the links 28, 29 is reversed.
