Locking nuts. - A bolt has portions of different diameters formed with right and left handed threads to receive two nuts 2, 3. A part 4 capable of moving endways on a reduced part 3<a> of the nut 3, but prevented from rotating independently, engages screw-threads 2<b> in a recess in the nut 2, the threads being of the same hand as those on the smaller portion 1<b> of the bolt. The parts 3, 4 are screwed into position simultaneously. The reduced part 3<a> and the opening in the part 4 may be square or oval; if cylindrical, relative rotation is prevented by a key or feather.
