Dash - pots. - Consists in linking the lever m, Fig. 6, of a doorclosing device to the piston p of an air check cylinder o, which is provided with an adjustable air outlet valve t and a slot u in the cylinder wall, which slot permits a free escape of the air during the initial portion of this inward stroke of the piston p until the slot u is covered by the piston which occurs when the lever m passes through the dead centre. A packing- disk s of the piston acts also as a valve for an air passage r in the piston.
