Abstract

25,847. Rado, V., and Mechner, S. Nov. 7. Protectors, securing. - A heel pad, shown in Fig. 4, is detachably secured to a heel by inserting hooks 12, formed on a plate 11 attached to the pad by claw-like projections 13, in slots 9, Fig. 1, in a plate 2, which is attached to the heel by nails and a screw 6, and after insertion turning a locking disk 4, Fig. 5, on the upper side of the plate 2, so that slots 14 in the edge of the disk are moved out of line with the slots 9. The locking disk is provided with a handle 8 projecting through a slot 5 in the plate 2. The disk at the side of the slots 14 is formed as an inclined plane, to force the heelpad plate firmly against the heel plate. Projections or depressions 17 on the heel plate co-operate with corresponding depressions or projections on the pad plate, to assist in holding the pad in position.
