24,334. Hughes, D. Oct. 20. Coupling.-The sliding wedge-piece D, used in connexion with a tapering box or split socket A for securing the ends of a wire cable B, are provided with internal helical grooves E which fit over and grip the corresponding ridges of the cable. The swivelling coupling-member F is locked in the socket A by means of pins K, which fit in semicircular grooves in the socket and in the opposite sides of a square nut H respectively.
