Abstract
24.012. Stanbrough, A. H., [trading as Mono Situ Concrete Co.]. Oct. 18, 1909, [Convention date]. Moulding walls in situ.-Moulding-boards C are provided with lateral supporting-pins C<1> adapted to rest on the course of concrete B below, and are secured at the correct distance apart by vertical clamping-ribs a, which are connected by rods b, g and bars H, and are adjusted by nuts and cams d. The first course is moulded on detachable distance-boards, which are laid between the moulding-boards on a concrete foundation, and are removed as soon as the concrete is filled in. Notched hopper-boards E fit over the cross-bars H, and are removed after the concrete has been rammed in. The concrete is then struck level with the top of the moulding-boards. The moulding-boards 'are secured together at the corner of a wall between an internal angle-piece a<6>, Fig. 2, and clamping- ribs a<5>. Vertical slotted guides a' are secured to a sole-piece a<3>, built into the wall and resting on a post a<4>, and ensure the vertical construction of the wall. Collapsible cores for use in moulding hollow or cavity walls are constructed of sides q and curved corner-pieces p, which are hinged to a bevelled cap h and moved in and out by a handle l, spindle k, a cam-disk m, and toggle links n. Lugs r, s, fixed to the hood, rest in sockets e and on lugs f fixed to the crossbars H.
