Abstract

22,589. Daney, G. L. Oct. 1, 1909, [Convention date]. Portable pressure reservoirs; chemicals and substances. -Relates to an apparatus for ejecting a fire-extinguishing liquid, such as a solution of aluminium nitride and cyanamide of calcium by means of compressed gas, such as a mixture of nitrogen and liquid carbon dioxide, the solution being at the same time impregnated with these gases. The gases are contained in a bottle F, and are adapted, on the opening of a cock K, to pass into an expander G, and thence through a valve I, a tube H, and a tube b into the solution contained in a reservoir A, which is provided near the bottom with a discharge pipe C, having a cock E and a nozzle D. A non-return valve is provided in conjunction with the valve I, in order to prevent back flow of liquid from the reservoir A into the bottle F. A safety-valve is arranged in the plug B of the reservoir A.
