Abstract

22,237. Simpson, R. Sept. 26. Printing processes.-Cheques, receipt forms, &c. are printed with a background in the same colour at one operation, by transferring designs representing the body of the cheque and the background from an etched plate, or plates, in one or two operations on to a lithographic stone or a zinc or aluminium plate, which is then etched more deeply than usual. The print is obtained from this surface in a lithographic machine from which the damping-apparatus has been removed. The sensitive ink employed consists of a mixture of one part of aniline colour ground in glycerine, and four parts of ordinary printing-ink.
