Curtain poles and rods; curtains.-Curtains are suspended from projecting rods on a rectangular frame detachably attached to a window frame, to separate the head end of a bed from the rest of the room and expose it to fresh air. The rectangular frame is adjustable, for instance telescopically, or by nuts and bolts engaging in slots in an intermediate strip 2, Fig. 8, allowing a close fit on the window-frame. Two parallel rods 12 are attached at the sides, supported by adjustable struts 15, and are joined by a cross-rod 13 to carry the canopy. Windows 45 of talc may be provided. A small curtain 32, suspended between the heads of two occupants of the bed to prevent the spread of infectious disease, is fixed at any position by the end of its rod 30 screwing through a boss against the edges of a slot in an upright part at the middle of the frame. Two troughshaped wind - shields 33 adjustable in length may be attached to the detachable frame above and below the window-sashes. The detachable frame need not extend to the top of the window.
