Drop-side cots.-Catches for retaining the sides of drop-side cots in the raised position are mounted in an inclined position so that they are returned to locking position by gravity. The catches A, of which there may be a pair connected by a rod o, are mounted by means of inclined pivots h on the side bar f of the cot frame, and comprise a lever g and a toe-piece having an inclined face b<3> and a flat surface b, the latter being adapted to support a projection on the drop side. A recessed portion a' on the catch-piece is engaged by a projection l<1> on the pivot, thereby limiting the movement of the catch.
