Abstract

18,747. Love, J. D. Aug. 9. Riding-saddles; girths ; stirrup straps.-A riding saddle is built up of shaped metal plates, and provided with a girth 18, and stirrup straps 20 formed of hinged metallic sections. The various plates are shown flattened and disengaged in Fig. 1. The seat plate 16 is secured to jockey plates 13, 14, to which are secured the cantle plate 17, the pommel 10, and the skirts 21. A U-spring 12, Fig. 3, is adapted to draw the arms of the pommel together. The saddle is padded in the usual manner.
