6266. Cobb, L. R. March 16. Riding -saddles. -An exercise or racing saddle is formed of a felt pad A shaped like a numnah, to which is riveted a sheetmetal tree B padded on each side. Two girth straps F are sewn to the pad A, and a raw - hide strap C, provided with dee - loops for the stirrup-leathers, is riveted to the tree B. The placing of the front girth a little behind the centre of the tree brings the weight of the rider more forward than in the case of the ordinary saddle.
