Moulding concrete buildings in situ.-Moulds for casting entire buildings at one operation are built up of flanged or cellular plates bolted together, certain sections such as 14, Fig. 1, being tapered to facilitate removal. The flanges may be at right angles to the plates, or otherwise, and interlock by means of lips or tongues and grooves. The plates are spaced apart by sleeves 12, Fig. 4, and bolts 7 having a turnbutton 9 in a slot 8, and a cam tightener 11. For the stairs and corners of the building, the mould plates are connected by external angled sections. Reinforcing-rods may be connected to the sleeves 12 by tongues 38, 39, Fig. 15, on slitted metal clips. The charging-hole is in the roof and surrounds a chimney, vent holes 43, Fig. 1, and rising pipes 17 being provided to ensure a sound casting. The floor, columns, and beams may be cast with the walls or the beams and floor slabs may be made previously and be supported by the moulds for the walls and columns. Profile plates 16 may be secured inside the mould sections, and the angular sections 19 for the ceiling moulding may be hinged to the adjacent sections. Holes for fixing-blocks are formed by means of a core 30, Fig. 17, carrying a flanged nut 32 which is left in situ. External platforms or planks may be supported by rods 26, Fig. 7, and hoops 25, or by plain rods 24. The mould sections may be removed by a bridge-piece 40, Fig. 12, provided with handoperated hooked screws 41.
