[Cognate Applications, 15,332/10, 26,001/10, and 26,969/10.] Mopwringers; mops.-Mops spun by a strap which re-coils itself on the mop-handle owing to the mop's momentum, are provided with a short handle carrying bearings. In smaller buckets, a laterally-open socket-bearing is in addition provided on the bucket. The mop-head is constructed to prevent the yarn from twisting on its core. The short handle 5, Fig. I, carries a D-fitting 1 with bearings, preferably ball bearings, on each side of the strap 6. For small buckets, the conical socket 12 formed integrally with, or separately from, the mop core, is also supported in a countersunk laterally-open bearing 22 in a bar 21 fixed to the bucket. Lateral movement is thus prevented, but ready detachment allowed. Ball bearings may be provided at this U-socket as shown in Fig. VIII, where a loose conical ring 36 and balls 38 are attached to the handle by a tubular rivet 37. A balanced mop-head is formed on the core shown in Fig. III. Yarn is bound within an enlargement or cup 13 by cord or wire passing through holes 14. The' bulk of the yarn is then bound against the disk 15 and around the shank 18, which is cruciform in cross-section to prevent twisting of the yarn on the core. Fig. VI shows a converse of the construction shown in Fig. I, two connected straps 42 being situated on either sido of a bearing 30 carried by a ring-handle 27. Modified forms of the bearing-parts 12, 22 are described in Specification 18,053/10. It is also stated in one of the Provisional Specifications that the bearing on the pail is formed in the pail-handle, which is rigidly affixed.
