Mines, marine.-Relates to mines provided with an hydrostatic device to prevent explosion when the pressure is too low or too high due to depth or to explosions in the neighbourhood. According to the invention, a dash-pot 8 is employed to delay the return of the device 5 to the normal position after an increase of pressure, so that the mine may not be fired by the oscillations which follow the first maximum pressure in the case of neighbouring explosions. In the form shown, pendulums 10 are pivoted at 11 on the device 5, and are raised and lowered out of range of the firing - device when the outer pressure is below or above the normal. For adjusting the device, a cap 18 is screwed over the device 5, and connected at 19 with a pipe leading to a water-receptacle which can be raised and lowered.
