Cameras, reflex; attaching reversing backs. - In a reflex camera, the part of the camera with the mirror and focusing-screen is made as a separate piece, and can be inserted between the front of the camera and the plate or film carrying frame; or alternatively, it can be omitted and the front and back can be directly connected, forming an ordinary camera. The front part, comprising the ordinary lens and baseboard fittings, has an open frame a with a reduced part a<5>, which fits a recessed part, either of the frame b carrying the mirror b2 and focusing-screen b<1>, or of the frame c comprising an ordinary camera back. The rear part of the frame b has a similarly reduced part b<4> for attaching to the frame c. The parts are locked by spring catches d and pins d'. A sliding bolt e connected with the usual operating - knob e<1> of the mirrorreleasing mechanism is provided in the part b so as to form a connexion between the usual shutter-operating knob e<2> carried on the front part a and the shutter mechanism carried by the part c.
