Cupping.-Grubscrews are made from bar stock by forming a head 2, either by upsetting or by turning down the stock, and then drilling or punching a socket hole 4 in the head. The socket is next shaped by means of an angular punch 6, pushing the stock through a die 5 with an aperture of the size of the stock, whereby an angular socket is formed by the die pressing the metal of the head around the punch.
