Oil seeds are pressed in the space between two travelling- bands d, e supported on girders f with rollerchains g interposed to reduce friction. The bands are built up of perforated plates i, which extend over the joints of the chain-links which carry them, and the links of one or both bands have extensions on their edges which serve to close in the space between the bands. The distance between the bands is regulated by means of the girder members f, which are formed as links hinged upon shafts o. The position of the outer shafts o in slotted links r can be adjusted by means of screws q.
