13,359. Devrin, A. June 2. Roller bearings.-In a self-lubricating bearing for wheels, a hollow steel axle a serves as an oil-reservoir. A detachable sleeve b is mounted on the axle, and rollers e ar placed between the sleeve b and the hub f. The reduced and rounded ends of the roller are pivoted loosely in cage rings h, which are connected together by riveted cross-pieces. An end plate k screwed on to the axle retains in position the wheel, the rollers, and the sleeve b. A screw d prevents rotation of the sleeve b. The plate k is held against rotation by an eccentrically-placed screw m engaging a cross-bar l inserted in notches in the end of the axle. Wicks n, extending through conical holes in the axle and sleeve, convey oil to the bearing.
