M i n c i n g . - A masticating-implement, having the general shape of a fork consisting of two parts a, b pivoted together, comprises two sets of curved prongs o n e set slightly longer t h a n the other. The pivot is a round-headed screw c fixed upon the part band passing through an opening in the other part a, the two parts near the joint being curved concentrically with the joint. A spring f normally holds the two portions a, b apart. When used as a fork, the spring is pressed back by the button i to allow the catch k to fasten the two parts together.
