7307. Lemaignen, R. B. A. March 26, 1909, [Convention date]. Counters actuated by revolving mechanism, detent, transfer, and zeroizing mechanism.- Describes a construction of counter of the single-step type for registering independently of the direction of revolution of the main spindle; transfer mechanism employing a cam, lever, and pawl is provided, and also zeroizing- mechanism as described in the concurrent Specification 7308/10. The counter may be driven from either end of its shaft m and, by means of a symmetrical cam m<0>, Fig. 3, actuates a ratchet-wheel, attached to the units drum a<1> through a lever c<0> and spring-controlled pawl g<0>. The lever is provided with an overthrow-preventing projection i<0>. A detent j<0> adapted to engage two of the teeth of the ratchet-wheel f<0>, is mounted on a shaft j, and determines the exact position of the wheel. The transfer mechanism consists of an arrangement of lever c<1>, Fig. 4, pawl g<1>, and overthrow-preventing projection i<1> similar to that just described; a projection d<1> upon the lever is in engagement with a snail cam b'.
