7295. Twombly, W. I. March 23. Pneumatic springs. - Relates to pneumatic cushions of the type in which a number of flexible chambers are interposed between the frame and the axles. According to the invention, the cushions, which may be independent, or may be connected to a central reservoir inflated either by hand or by the driving-mechanism, are in the shape of a cylinder 7 with an enlarged head 6, the cylinder forming a guide for a sleeve 8 connected to the axle B and bearing against the flexible cushion 10, which is protected from rupture on the lower side by a flexible pad 20. The small nipple 16 allows a limited amount of interaction between the various cushions.
